- The Roebuck is the nearest pub, about 15 minutes walk towards town along the Stockbridge Road. There are bar meals and a restaurant. It is a good idea to book but it is not always very busy. Tel: 01962 865412
The Cart and Horses is a bigger pub with a thatched roof. It is a ten-minute car journey. You may need to follow a map to find it in Kings Worthy. It is on the road to Basingstoke. There is a good menu and easy parking. Tel: 01962 882360 The Plough is a country pub in Sparsholt. It is very popular for its food—maybe not the cheapest. About two miles away keen walkers can reach it by paths and country lanes, taking about 45 minutes. By car you turn right as you leave Lainston Close, continue along the narrow Dean Lane until you reach a T-junction. Turn left and you will see the pub on your right in about 500 yards. It is advisable to book for food. Tel: 01962 776353 link Lainston House Hotel (not to be confused with Lainston Bed and Breakfast!) will give you an experience of a grand and luxurious country house hotel with extensive views. It is a queen Anne House. By car you will find it signed about three miles along the Stockbridge Road going north on the left.
